Txingudi Ringing Station

The Txingudi Ringing Station (hereafter, TRS) is a huge project with the goal of studying the avifauna, mainly (but not only) in South-West of Pyrenees sector, coinciding with the territories of Gipuzkoa and Navarra. The TRS is part of the Aranzadi Sciences Society.

The name of the TRS is based in two main facts: that ringing is one of the main research tools used in the Station, and that two of the most relevant projects, the ringing stations of Jaizubia and Plaiaundi, are placed within the Txingudi marshland, a very important bird conservation area, included in the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance, and of course the most relevant wetland in Gipuzkoa.

In line with the goal of contributing to increase our knowledge on birds, the TRS also commits to bird conservation and the spaces used by them. As a consequence, the publication of our research findings is also one of our main objectives. To some extent, this web page covers this goal.
